Can Google Glass make AIRSOFT better?

Every single day AIRSOFT companies are trying to come up with some breakthrough that would enable them to become a monopolist and change the world. There are two main ideas how to do it: the first one focuses on making AIRSOFT more and more realistic, the second is willing to give to a player a powerful tool that will make him invincible. By far we have seen development of professional guns, modern MOSFETs that give to players access to many new valuable functions or different gadgets that make a play more breathtaking like mines, grenades, drones or even tanks. But as for now we haven't seen anything that would make vision from movies like TERMINATOR or ROBOCOP even a little bit more realistic. As for now.

No, unfortunately they haven't invented humanoid war robots that can be used in the AIRSOFT battle. Yet. We have though another interesting idea and, what is more, for now it is associated not with the AIRSOFT but with ordinary art of militaria. TrackingPoint is an american company specialized in manufacturing PGF: Precision Guided Firearms. Because of that technology shooting becomes much easier and, in fact every gun holder is able to electronically support his skills. Since the beginning of their work it seemed to be very practical and promising. But now it is even better. Because engineers from TrackingPoint have combined the power of their guns with possibilities that are offered by the Google Glass now everyone can become a great shooter without even looking through a viewfinder. How does it look like in practise? Just watch a promo video, it's worth it.

Impressing, isn't it? Some of you may argue that 1. It is just a prototype 2. It says nothing at all about AIRSOFT. But though: EVERYTHING was a prototype once and supply is determined by demand. Surely if there will be appropriate number of players willing to equip with this sci-fi machinery there will be a producer that will take money from them. Other thing is, do you think that would be good for the AIRSOFT? On the one hand this is another portion of a good fun, modern technology in our hands, future that is taking place at the moment... But on the other hand less and less depends on the human being. Think about the Formula 1 race series: technological war lead to the situation when it doesn't matter how good the driver is, all that matters is what car does he drive. For a pretty long time it was a serious thread and officials had to implement new fixed rules in order to restore the balance. Implementation of such inventions in AIRSOFT would lead to the situation when a winner will not be someone who is the best but someone, who has the best equipment. And for me that would not be good.

But though, in case of new technologies there are always threads. I keep my fingers crossed for guys from TrackingPoint because they have the courage to to change the world. I believe that AIRSOFT PLAYERS are wise society that will omit all the obstacles and simply take advantage of the new inventions.
