As you probably know I’m a huge fan of the AIRSOFT innovation. I respect the history and sometimes I’m really mad about some retro replicas but still, I think we should move forward. Being realistic doesn’t only mean that we all should run with Thompsons: there are a lot of contemporary military units that are really amazing and worth following. What is their common characteristic is a technological advancement. Therefore, we shouldn’t feel guilty while developing our replicas: gaining technological advantage over other players isn’t bad at all, it’s just a matter of being clever. And remember, a soldier who is clever is a soldier who is a winner.
So, is the MARS a smart technology? Let’s start with an answer what does it consist of. At first, a replica can be easily disassembled what makes it easy to transport. Next, the number of cables is minimized so it is less messy, more safe and aesthetic. There are also some practical solutions: the system guarantees a protection against excessive discharge (and informs you about it with a sensor light) and it makes impossible shooting with empty magazine. What is especially interesting the new replicas designed in this system have built-in MOSFETs. However it is very basic, it is a good solution because it positively influences the gun’s reliability. But what is the most important it makes players’ life easier. Once you buy a replica factory-equipped with the very basic MOSFET it is trivial to replace it with a sophisticated one: you won’t need to solder anything because everything will be ready for more advanced solutions provided by professionals, ex. MERF 3.2.
If you want to how does it look in practice I recommend you to watch the promo of the new G&G GSS: sniper rifle built in the M.A.R.S Technology.
So, is there life in MARS? Yep, definitely there is. That’s a really good technology that makes AIRSOFT more advanced, sophisticated and, in fact realistic. What is the most important, it gives you a choice: you are able to pick weather you prefer basic or more developed solutions. I just hope this technology will spread and change contemporary AIRSOFT.
